Vintage Patchwork U.S. Army Field Shirt
$200.00
A foundation piece reworked into something far more personal. This vintage U.S. Army shirt carries its original structure—clean lines, durable cotton, functional pockets—but has been transformed through a collage of patches that feel collected over time rather than placed all at once.
The base is a classic olive drab utility shirt: straight cut, slightly boxy, with a soft, broken-in hand that sits comfortably between shirt and light jacket. The fabric has aged just enough to lose its rigidity while still holding its shape.
What sets it apart is the surface language. Military insignia—“U.S. ARMY,” rank chevrons, and a “Captain” patch—anchor the piece, while an unexpected mix of graphics shifts the tone: a Mets logo, souvenir-style badges, an owl, cherries, a “I’d Rather Be Fishing” patch, and other small emblems layered across the front and back. There’s a looseness to the composition—it reads less like customization and more like accumulation.
The balance is what makes it work. Discipline meets play. Structure meets personality.
Vintage condition with light wear consistent with age. Patches are securely applied with minor signs of handling that add to the character.
A one-of-one layering piece—built on uniform, finished with individuality.
